LouVino is a unique restaurant concept. Their menu offers small-plate comfort food and an extensive wine list, served in a communal dining style. Since opening the first location in Louisville in 2014, LouVino has added locations within and beyond Kentucky.
The restaurant owners wanted to create a new, stand-out brand that reflected the restaurant’s unique concept and the owners’ vibrant personality. HighNote embraced our clients’ love for the city of Louisville and developed a new restaurant name: LouVino. Inspired by a symbol of the city of Louisville—the fleur de lis—we designed an identity system based on a deconstructed fleur de lis pattern and custom illustrations for menus and signage. We selected a deep, wine red as the brand color and used a modern, rustic feel in all print and signs to blend with the restaurant’s interior design.
Since launching the new brand, LouVino’s has far surpassed its business expectations. Employees embody the brand personality and are lauded for their customer service. LouVino’s strong brand recognition has garnered local and regional press publicity across multiple print and digital media outlets, including being named 2015 Best New Restaurant by Louisville Magazine and listed among the Best Brunches in the South by Southern Living Magazine.
