Rise & Shine,
Have you heard of Scarlet’s Bakery? If not, it’s a local bakery that’s doing a lot of good for our community! Rachelle Starr opened the bakery in 2015 hoping to provide a much needed helping hand to struggling women seeking to improve their lives.
Not only do they sell delicious, award-winning baked goods (I recommend the Cinnamon Rolls ????), but they also offer a Career Development Program which teaches life, baking and overall work readiness skills to women wanting to work towards more sustainable futures. They even offer therapy and case management services to women who participate in their 12-month program. To learn more or to visit the bakery click here!
“We don’t hire people to bake cupcakes. We bake cupcakes to hire people.” Scarlet’s Bakery’s mission really resonates with me. As an owner of a local, woman-owned business, I prioritize supporting independent businesses and our nonprofits while serving as a local resource to help businesses meet their diversity spend goals.
Scarlet’s Bakery is an incredible asset to our community, and I’m delighted to be able to share their inspirational story. 100% of their profits goes back to help employ exploited women. If you’re so inclined, you may donate to this amazing bakery here.
