The winter season always reminds me about my family’s traditions – all those wonderful stories and memories I cherish from my childhood. My aunt, uncle and cousins traveling in was always one of my favorite memories, the anticipation of their arrival and the fun we would have during their visit. Traditions are regularly created and preserved because they bring meaning to our celebrations and help bond us to those we love. They offer a certain spirit that cultivates family connection, giving us a sense of belonging while also helping us celebrate and remember generations of family. More importantly, traditions create positive memories for our children. Children crave the warmth and promise that follow traditions- and adults are no exception! This year at HighNote, we’re starting up one of our favorite company traditions! We’re celebrating some of our employees’ favorite family traditions by giving small gifts that help ignite those precious holiday memories. Each workday between now and Christmas, our employees will receive a special “holiday tradition” gift in their stockings. The gift may be a reminder of watching a favorite classic Christmas movie with a cup of hot cocoa, or maybe newer traditions like Elf on a Shelf and getting new Christmas PJ’s. What is your favorite holiday tradition? No matter what you celebrate, treasure the memories with your friends and family because traditions can last a lifetime if you let them!
