One of my favorite things about December is being able to find a Christmas movie, practically on every channel! Binge watching holiday movies is one of my guilty pleasures because they never fail to put me in the Christmas spirit. And, watching the same movies with my children that I enjoyed when I was young is such a special tradition I will always look forward to!
It’s a Wonderful Life is a holiday classic I can never resist. I recently learned that this classic was actually a box office bomb when it first hit theaters. The director, Frank Capra even lost $525,000 from this production! Another one of my favorites (and my kids) is Elf. Did you know Jim Carrey was initially eyed to star as Buddy? Although, I’m not sure how he could’ve out done Will Ferrell’s hilarious performance.
But overall, anytime I think of a timeless Christmas movie, White Christmas always comes to mind. I used to watch this musical with my parents and sing along to its iconic soundtrack. Through January 26th , the Frazier Museum is celebrating 65 years of White Christmas in honor of this classic film. The exhibition features costumes, personal memorabilia from Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney and even replica backdrops where visitors can recreate scenes from the movie!
Watching and re-watching movies I love with the ones I love is a holiday tradition I will continue for years to come! What’s your favorite holiday movie?
