Happy Monday!
There are many reasons to love Reese Witherspoon: not only is she a smart businesswoman and the actress who elevated Elle Woods to icon status, but she has amazing taste in books to boot.
In June of 2017, Reese started a book club within her company Hello Sunshine to share her monthly story picks with a community of avid readers. She has a keen eye and is responsible for plucking Where the Crawdads Sing author Delia Owens out of relative obscurity. Ever since Witherspoon named the novel to her book club in 2018, Owens has remained on the New York Times bestseller list. I just finished reading this book and highly recommend it. As the co-founder of the production company Pacific Standard, Witherspoon also has the ability to adapt her book club picks for TV and film, like Celeste Ng’s Little Fires Everywhere, which is now a hit series on Hulu. In order to make her selections readily accessible to a large audience, Reese has partnered with Audible to ensure that her picks are available via the streaming platform. I know many people love audiobooks. However, I’m still one of those old school, book readers that loves how the paper feels with each page turn. Do you prefer audiobooks or reading? Let me know if you’ve read any great books lately. I’m looking for my next great read. |
