Good morning everyone,

A little over a month ago, someone very special to me participated in the Let’s Dance Louisville charity event. It is a dance competition based on the hit TV show, Dancing with the Stars, but on a local level. Twelve local “celebrities” perform a dance routine to raise financial donations. 100% of the proceeds from this event benefited the Feed My Neighbor program, helping to care for our neighbors by serving up dignity and compassion one meal at a time.

Dancing can be a great way to get your body moving, have fun and connect with people and your community. The benefits don’t stop there, dancing has also been shown to reverse the signs of aging in the brain! By challenging yourself with choreographed routines, you can improve many of your brain structures and functions. Who would have thought doing the Macarena could benefit your brain?

Whether you are dancing to feed the homeless, improve your health, or just simply to have a good time… take some time today to get up and move!

Dancers

Up and up!
