Good Morning! |
Cinco De Mayo, everyone’s favorite Taco-Rita celebration is tomorrow, May 5th. While most people think Cinco de Mayo is Mexico’s Independence Day, it’s actually a day of remembrance and celebration of the Mexican army’s victory over the French at the battle of Puebla in 1862.
One of the beautiful things about Mexican culture is how soulfully they celebrate. And while we can’t celebrate this year with friends at parties, restaurants and bars, we can create a colorful party-at-home with amazing Mexican food. Cook at home or support your favorite local Mexican restaurant. There are about 54,000 Mexican restaurants in the United States. My personal favorite is Fiesta Time Amigos. Tell me your favorite! Cinco De Mayo also happens to fall on a Tuesday this year. So, for all of those families who love “Taco Tuesday Night,” this is your year! I can’t think of a better way to find some joy and positivity in my household than with tacos, tequila and guacamole. I’ll leave you with my favorite drink recipe and many wishes for everyone to celebrate Cinco De Mayo with tasty spirits, delicious food, bright colors, lively music and of course, social distancing! “The Paloma” (a great change from your classic Margarita) Up and Up! |
